Got-Theology.com (“GotTheology,” “we”) is a free, ad-supported Bible commentary site. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit and how you can control it. Questions: info.got.theology@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We do not require accounts, and we do not ask for your name or payment details. We receive:
- Server and analytics data. Our host, Netlify, records standard request data (such as pages requested, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, and referring page) to operate the site and provide aggregate traffic statistics. We use this only in aggregate to understand which pages are read.
- Email you send us. If you email us, we use your address and message to reply and, if you ask, to send occasional update notes. We do not sell or share your address.
- Cookies from advertising partners. Described below.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites.
Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Cookies and similar technologies may also be used to measure ad performance and to limit how often you see an ad.
Other third-party vendors or ad networks may also serve ads on this site, and they may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies for the same purposes.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and see Google’s advertising policies.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Ads may still appear, but they will be less relevant.
Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent, through a Google-certified consent message, before cookies are used for personalized advertising. You can decline, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown with that message. Where you decline, Google may show non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention, and aggregate reporting.
U.S. state privacy rights
We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Some U.S. state laws treat personalized advertising as “sharing” or “targeted advertising”; you can opt out using the Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info links above, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser where supported.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Scripture and content
Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible (WEB), which is in the public domain. Commentary is our own editorial work; historic quotations are attributed to their authors.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
